Author of “Hadrian’s wall” Kyle Higgins will write the script and direct the movie based on his own comic.
Writing a comic is dream come true for many people but to then have your story turned into a movie and be the one to write the script and direct the film is something Kyle Higgins and few others can say they did. Currently, in the works, Hadrian’s Wall at Gunpowder and Skydust Studios, the film much like the comic will be a sci-fi noir crime drama with an interstellar backdrop.
In 2016, Image Comics published the eight-issue series Hadrian’s Wall by Alec Siegel, Rod Reis, and Higgins. Hadrian’s Wall centers on pill-popping detective Simone Moore who has been tasked to investigate the murder of an astronaut on Hadrian’s Wall– a survey ship that has his ex-wife as a crew member. With a civil war between earth and a distant colony happening all around him, Simon could be the next death in this murder mystery.
With years of experience in the industry writing on books like Batman: Gates of Gotham, Nightwing, and Power Rangers: Shattered Grid from BOOM! Studios (which he also directed the live action trailer for), Higgins is making his way up the ladder. “The best murder mysteries are vehicles for character study, and at its core, this is a story about relationships, set in one of the most isolated places in the universe. I think fans of the book will be as thrilled as I am.” Said Higgins when asked about his story.
Cody Zwieg, senior vice president of development and production, Gunpowder & Sky said: “Although Hadrian’s Wall takes place a century into the future, the crew of the space vessel navigates both a murder mystery and a civil war in a world smartly mirroring our present day.”
