In the wake of the news that fired Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was being tapped to potentially direct the sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad. Currently Marvel contracted Actor Dave Bautista took to Twitter to say that he would be interested in a role in Gunn’s Suicide Squad.
This of course follows in the wake of a statement Bautista made shortly after Gunn was fired saying he wanted out of his contract if Gunn wasn’t rehired.
Bautista said in an interview with Shortlist:
“Nobody’s defending his tweets, but this was a smear campaign on a good man, I spoke to Chris Pratt the day after it happened and he’s a bit religious so he wanted time to pray and figure it out, but I was more like: f— this. This is bulls—. James is one of the kindest, most decent people I’ve met.
Where I’m at right now is that if [Marvel] don’t use that script, then I’m going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out or recast me, I’d be doing James a disservice if I didn’t.”
To clarify at this point this is speculation but has Bautista confirmed accidentally that he is out of contract, or more likely that Drax will die in Avengers 4? Time will tell.
