You may recognize Moore from, Watchmen, V is for Vendetta and From Hell.  He first entered the industry with 2000 AD, and Marvel UK before jumping ship to DC Comics.  Moore worked on several books for DC, The Saga of the Swamp Thing, The Killing Joke and many more titles. Moore would later leave DC, according to screenrant he left due to royalties over Watchmen.  He would go on to work for American’s Best Comics and Image working on titles such as Promethea, Supreme and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
