“We all float down here, Wally”.
In developing news, Andy Muschietti (It & It: Chapter Two) is in talks to direct the DC Comics superhero film alongside his wife, Barbara Muschietti, who will produce. In a crimson twist, Warner Bros. will not be using the Ezra Miller and Grant Morrison penned script, instead of going with Christina Hodson, who wrote Bumblebee and the studio’s upcoming DC Comics title, Birds of Prey. Although the studio is just in the “talk” stage, the studio already has a release date goal of January 2021.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein who originally were tasked with script duties, both have stepped down after being with the project for the better part of two years. However, tensions with Ezra Miller, the script, and creative differences all around have long stained and slowed production. When news surfaced regarding Miller’s disdain for the script, he and Morrison penned one in another direction which didn’t sit well with Daley and Goldstein. However, the studio not being impressed with Miller’s rewrite canned his version, but kept him onboard for the starring role.
Now please keep in mind the hiring of the Muschietti’s is still in its infant stages and continues to grow as I write this. So with that being said, make sure you keep your browsers pointed to comic-watch.com for all your comic news and reviews.
