NEWS WATCH: James Wan and Gary Dauberman team up to bring us Salem’s Lot

If you’ve never been to Jerusalem’s Lot, well…you’re finally gonna get your chance. Pack your bags, cause James Wan (Saw) and Gary Dauberman (The Nun) have been put in command of taking us to the fictional town that many horror fans have been aching to see on the big screen.

Salem’s Lot, set in the fictional town of Jerusalem’s Lot, Maine. Author Ben Mears returns to his boyhood home to write a book about the long-abandoned Marsten House, where he had a bad experience as a child. One thing leads to another, Ben and Mark (a local priest) are charged with ridding the small town of hideous vampires. I know what you are saying…we’ve heard this before, we’ve seen this before. In this day and age, possibly. However you haven’t heard Stephen King’s version, and with Wan and Dauberman at the helm, I’m sure this will do what Stephen King movies are supposed to do…scare the hell out of you.

Both James Wan and Gary Dauberman are no strangers to the horror genre. Wan on top of directing, producing, and launching such titles as Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring (any of these sound familiar?) has made name for himself across Hollywood, which probably helped him land a little movie call Aquaman…maybe you’ve seen it? Dauberman, being a keynote name as well knows his way around the horror screen. With having written both Annabelle and Annabelle: Creation, both grossing over $500 million internationally. And let’s not forget Dauberman worked on another Stephen King title, It and It: Chapter Two. The dynamic duo of Wan and Dauberman are coming off the successful opening weekend with The Curse of La Llorona, which raked in $26.7 million on a budget of only $9 million, and are teaming for the launch of DC Comics’ Swamp Thing, set to debut in May on DC Universe.
