NEWS WATCH: Justice League Dark Coming to HBO Max From Bad Robot Productions

DC Comics’ mystical Justice League Dark universe will be coming to life thanks to J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, which will develop a TV show for HBO Max.

In a story from Variety, revealed that this project, previously reported to have been moved under Bad Robot’s creative banner for HBO Max, now seems to be in development. The official title of the Justice League Dark show was not announced at this time. It was also revealed that Bad Robot would also produce an original drama titled Duster and a spin-off of The Shining titled Overlook for the streaming service. These new shows are the result of the overall first look dead Bad Robot signed with WarnerMedia, including HBO Max in 2019.

Kevin Reilly, the chief content officer of HBO Max and president of TNT, TBS, and truTV, said about the announcement,

“What an amazing start to our association with the wildly imaginative Bad Robot team under J.J. and Katie [McGrath]. What could be better than an original J.J. idea and then Warner Bros. letting them loose on iconic I.P. from Stephen King and the DC Universe and to provide more must-have programming on HBO Max.”

A release date, official name, character roster of the Justice League Dark series were not announced at this time.
