On his own and on the loose KILLMONGER terrorizes the Marvel universe in his own mini.
Wakanda’s lost son won’t be denied and you can read about him and all the havoc he wreaks upon the Marvel universe this December with KILLMONGER #1, the first issue in a five-part limited series written by Bryan Edward Hill with art from Juan Ferreyra.
Thanks to Michael B. Jordan’s stunning performance as KILLMONGER in this year’s cinematic phenomenon the Black Panther, a resurgence of the Marvel villain also known as Erik Killmonger, has brought about a new 5 issue mini chronicling the life and times of this man out for vengeance.
“I wanted to explore the choices and the failures that lead a person to dedicate their life to revenge, and how that happens. Because with Erik, I feel like it’s really a tragedy.” Hill said in his interview with Vulture magazine and continued with “Getting into the series, you’ll see a bit of the Wakandan spiritualism and how he’s wrestling with what he knows to be true in a spiritual sense, but also he’s wrestling with what he desires in the moment, which is sanguine revenge. Hopefully, readers will get to see new dimensions of the character, and the story will take them into pretty unexpected places.”
Hill was definitely impacted by the Black Panther movie when he said in his interview “Jordan’s performance is remarkable because even in his philosophy you can see that he’s still wounded. He’s a person justifying himself with his anger.”
“He’s expressive. There’s so much intent in creating this textured world and his artwork. It’s really a joy to see him interpret the script. And that’s really what he’s doing.” Hill commented on working with Ferreyra.
Prepare yourselves comic fans cause come this December KILLMONGER, the five-part limited series, will give us a villain we love to hate.
