Daimon Hellstrom (Son of Satan, Hellstorm) first appeared in Ghost Rider #1 and with the rising popularity of the character, he was given his own feature, “Son of Satan”, in Marvel Spotlight. Despite controversies of the time with concerns of witchcraft and satanism, sales were pretty good and Marvel gave Daimon his own series: Son of Satan. Success can only last for so long, or in this case 7 issues. Over the years with various incarnations, great team assignments with outfits such as DEFENDERS, Hellfire Club, and the Masters of Evil and numerous encounters with some of Marvel’s greatest heroes, Hellstrom’s cult status is on par with a series on a subscription service. I say that only due to the fact that in order to tell his proper story, CBS or the like would not be a good fit for the Son of Satan. A show telling this kind of story definitely finds a better home for the subscription services like Hulu. The cast taking this to the screen as announced exclusively by DEADLINE brings in alumni from some pretty strong series’ such as Homeland and The Walking Dead. The show is set to debut next year and will be led by Paul Zbyszewski as showrunner and executive produced by none other than Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb. I remember stealing my older brother's copy of a Punisher comic and it was all down hill from there. I went to a Navy recruiter's office with the promise of cake. I was lied to and 20 years later here I am. I enjoy summers off with my family at our timeshare on Gallifrey.
