The upcoming series, Secret Invasion, starring Samuel Jackson for Disney Plus series is in negotiations to add some Oscar power to its cast.
Olivia Colman, who has been nominated for best-supporting actress for her role in The Father, is according to The Hollywood Reporter, in negotiations to join Secret Invasion, Marvel Studios’ next series for the streaming service.
The plot details for the series have yet to be revealed, but the events of the Captain Marvel movie will be the jumping-off point, as Samuel Jackson will return to his role of Nick Fury, and Ben Mendelsohn will reprise his role from the film as the shapeshifter from the alien race known as the Skrulls.Marvel had no comment as to Coleman’s role in the series but is a stellar addition to a cast that also includes Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night in Miami) as the likely villain.
Kyle Bradstreet, who worked on the acclaimed cyber-thriller series Mr. Robot, is writing and executive producing the series with a fall filming schedule U.K. and Europe planned. No director has been named for the series as of yet.
