Later this month, the powerful Cosmic Cube will be up for grabs, setting up a three-way showdown between Shang-Chi, Captain America, and a new villain—LADY IRON FAN in the second issue of Marvel’s SHANG-CHI thanks to the creative team of award-winning writer Gene Luen Yang and rising star artist Dike Ruan.
With these two at the creative helm, Shang-Chi has never been more exciting or dangerous! Following the events of the critically acclaimed first volume, which ended with Shang-Chi determined to restore honor to the Five Weapons Society, an ancient organization of warriors ruled by his family, now, the new leader of this shadowy and secretive group, Shang-Chi finds himself at odds with some of the biggest heroes in the Marvel Universe as well as drawing the attention of a host of brand-new Marvel villains eager to bring him down.
SHANG-CHI #2, on sale June 30th, finds the powerful Cosmic Cube up for grabs, leading to a three-way showdown between Shang-Chi, Captain America, and a new villain, LADY IRON FAN whose psychic abilities enable her to control an arsenal of razor-sharp fan weaponry. This deadly new enemy also has at her command a powerful criminal organization of her own, set to rival Hydra and AIM!
Yang, in a press release about the upcoming issue said:
“In our story, Lady Iron Fan is the owner of a popular casino hotel in Macau. She plays hostess to the biggest supervillain social event of the season. Lady Iron Fan is inspired by Princess Iron Fan, a famous character from the Chinese classic Journey to the West. Her powers are inspired by the classic character. She was a lot of fun to write!”
