The Batman hits pause on filming.
The Batman has halted its production in London following a crewmember’s positive test for COVID-19.
“A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson said in a statement Thursday to THR. “Filming is temporarily paused.”
Production on The Batman has shut down once already during March when the pandemic struck so this marks the second COVID-19 related delay in filming the Robert Pattinson led Dark Knight film.
This comes after the debut of the first trailer for The Batman during the DC FanDome event that garnered 22+ million global views from over 220 countries and territories in just 24 hours. The trailer released to widely positive reactions. If you haven’t seen it, check out the video below!
Matt Reeves is directing The Batman, which stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, John Turturro as crime boss Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred and Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham City DA Gil Colson.
The Batman is due out Oct. 1, 2021.
UPDATE: Vanity Fair has now reported that highly placed sources say Pattinson himself may have contracted the virus but this is yet unconfirmed at this time…
There has been no confirmation on when filming is set to resume.
