Madame Rouge is coming to Season 3 of HBOMax’s DOOM PATROL and will be played by Michelle Gomez, known for her roles in The Flight Attendant‘s and Madam Satan in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Gomez has also appeared as Missy in Doctor Who season eight, earning her a BAFTA nomination in 2016 for her role in the BBC sci-fi series. Her additional television credits include HBO’s The Brink and Fox’s Gotham and the UK series Bad Education, Psychobitches, Feel the Force, Green Wing, Carrie and Barry, and The Book Group.

Her character, Madame Rouge, was created by Arnold Drake, making her first appearance in Doom Patrol #86 (March 1964). French stage actress Laura De Mille was in an automobile accident, causing her to develop a dual good/evil split personality. She would join the Brotherhood of Evil, as the only female member assisting in the continuing conflicts against the Doom Patrol. In the beginning, Madame Rouge was simply a master of disguise; but subsequent surgeries performed by the Brain gave her the ability to alter her appearance and stretch her limbs. When her good personality resurfaced, Rouge became romantically linked to the Doom Patrol’s leader, Niles Caulder (“The Chief”), who helped Rouge overcome her evil side and ally with the Doom Patrol. Ultimately, Rouge’s mind reverts back to its evil state, causing her to seek vengeance against both the Brotherhood of Evil and the Doom Patrol for their previous interferences.
No premiere date for Season 3 of DOOM PATROL was announced at this time.
