NEWS WATCH: Netflix’s Upcoming The School for Good and Evil Directed by Paul Feig, Releases Teaser

The fantasy fairytale hexalogy of books by Soman Chainan known as The School for Good and Evil about the school where regular kids go and learn to become fairytale heroes and villains is coming to Netflix in 2022.

The first installment of the series was released in 2013 and the final book hit shelves in June of 2020.  Set in the fictional widespread Endless Woods, the original trilogy (known as The School Years) follows the adventures of best friends Sophie and Agatha during their time at the school with the second trilogy, known as The Camelot Years, follows Agatha and her true love King Tedros ascending to the role of Queen and King of Camelot, as Sophie works on re-forming Evil into a new image.

Paul Feig will direct the movie which revolves around two best friends who enroll at the school only to find their ambitions thwarted when Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso), who dreams od being a princess, finds herself at the School for Evil school, and Agatha (Sofia Wylie) who has dreams of a life as a bad guy, is placed at the School for Good.

As part of Netflix’s GEEKED Week, the streaming service released a new teaser revealing three of the soon-to-be classmates, a trio of witches Anadil, Dot, and Gester, who will be played by Demi Isaac Oviawe, Kaitlyn Akinpelumi, and Freya Theodora Parks, respectively. The clip reveals a  first glimpse of the switched in action and where the actors meet author Chainani for the first time:

Charlize Theron as Lady Lesso, Kerry Washington as Professor Dovey, Laurence Fishburne as the Schoolmaster, and Michelle Yeoh as Professor Anemone, round out the cast.

The School of Good and Evil is filming in Northern Ireland the movie is scheduled to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2022.
