Hail, Queen Nubia! Fresh  from the pages of the Trial of the Amazons event that is currently running through the pages of all of the Wonder Woman titles, Nubia, and the Amazons celebrates her coronation in the just announced Nubia Queen of the Amazons mini that’s hitting your favorite comic shops this summer following the Nubia: Coronation Special.

First reported by Screenrant, the creative team behind the smash hit, Nubia & the Amazons, Stephanie Williams, Vita Ayala, Alitha Martinez, and Mark Morales, will feature covers from Khary Randolph and Kevin Wada, will explore this new chapter of the Amazons, and where they go from here.

Wonder Woman thought dead, and went missing following the events of Dark Nights: Death Metal, gave a greater focus on Nubia, as Diana’s mother, Queen Hippolyta, decided to leave the shores of Themyscira, joining the Justice League during the Infinite Frontier era that followed the events of Death Metal.

Nubia was first introduced in Wonder Woman #204 in 1973, was originally Wonder Woman’s sister, from a floating island filled with Amazons, would become DC’s first black female superhero character. The team wants to show the world that Nubia is worthy of this new station she’s given, and lead these bands of women into the next major chapter of their lives. Wonder Woman, and her world are about to be thrust into a whole new status quo, and Nubia seems to be a very big part of those plans. You can find Nubia: Queen of the Amazons in stores June 7th.
