The cult cartoon character Invader Zim is coming to a new comic book series starting in April thanks to Oni Press.
Following the success of the Netflix movie Enter the Florpus, Invader Zim, the Nickelodeon property that debuted in 2001 and had a second season in 2006, will continue in a quarterly format as the monthly series ends its run.
The new series entitled Invader Zim Quarterly will start in April and feature a story by Eric Trueheart and Aaron Alexovich. The new title will replace Oni’s current Invader Zim monthly, which launched in 2015, and ends with issue #50, also out in April. The final issue of the ongoing series will be written by Invader Zim creator, Jhonen Vasquez.
Oni will also be debuting the series entitled Best of Invader Zim, collected editions that bring together stories from Oni’s first Zim series new series starting in July. The first title of this anthology series will be titled Invader Zim: Best of World Domination and feature four stories of Zim’s attempts to take over the planet, each one cruelly foiled by pesky humans who should know better.
