News Watch: Real Life Villain Steals Comic collect in Las Vegas Storage Unit.

It’s not often that Comic Book villains make into the news. However, that is just what happens when Thieves break into a storage unit stealing comic books in Las Vegas.

The villain in this real-life story is unnamed but surveillance picture has caught the perpetrator on camera.

“I would rather them have stole my car,” Danny Ballard tells KTNV Las Vegas. “I felt like such a dork,” Ballard said. “You know, because I’m a grown man crying over comics.”

Ballard himself delivers comic books to hospitalized children, as he found out that his own personal collection was stolen from inside of a locked storage unit. Upon finding out, Ballard called the police as they went over evidence and surveillance cameras. The cameras did pick up an up-close look at the suspect and the license plate of what may just be a getaway car. The storage unit its self is considered secure as it is gated and has access codes.

“When they broke in they went straight to my unit. They only broke into my unit. And they only took the comics,” he said.”One comic in there alone is worth five thousand dollars! Just one book,”

There were a total of 12 boxes of comics. As most comic collectors know it can take a lifetime to build a collection. “I’m a big Spider-Man and Batman fan. I also had the entire run of Big Trouble in Little China,” he said. “The sillier shorter run titles.”

KTNV states “He had hoped to pass the collection on to his son. Now he just hopes someone will see the surveillance picture and lead police to the crook and his prized possessions.”
