This February writer Matthew Rosenberg and artist Salvador Larocca will deliver the first arc post Age of X-Man starting with Devastation!!
However, the question on everybody’s lips is… is this the return of Scott Summers?
Looking at the covers revealed by Marvel today and Rosenberg having tweet below, it would appear so.
The “but he’s back” has X-fans speculating heavily on if it is actually the return of Cyclops or just a tease for something else considering the second cover for issue #12 titled: The Last X-Men also revealed by Marvel today shows Cyclops alongside Wolverine. Logan is another member who has yet to rejoin his fellow mutants on a permanent basis. This would also fly in the face of several times that both X-writers like Rosenberg, Brisson and even head X-editor Jordan White stating that Cyclops is “deader than dead”
Rosenberg is not saying anything else although there is this quote from him regarding the storyline he is writing:
“THIS IS THE FIGHT TO SAVE MUTANTKIND, THE FIGHT TO RESTORE THEIR LEGACY, AND THIS IS THE FIGHT FOR THEIR LIVES. THIS IS FOREVER.”
Whatever the case these teases have certainly got the Scott Summers fans talking. Come February 2019 we will find out…
