NEWS WATCH: SHAZAM! Warner Bros Next Superhero Hit Gets The ScreenX Treatment

The immersive 270-degree format of ScreenX is not slowing down in 2019 with these new titles.

 

 

Warner Bros deal with South Korean cinema technology company CJ 4DPLEX, a deal yet to be fulling disclose, will produce the release of several movies on ScreenX format which include New Line Cinema’s Shazam! on April 5 and The Curse of La Llorona on April 19, followed by Warner Bros.’ and Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla: King of the Monsters on May 31. With 3 more movies still to be announced in the near future the total of movies being released by Warner Bros in the immersive, 270-degree ScreenX format globally this year climbs to 6, up from last years 5.

“This will build on the success of the globally successful ScreenX engagements of Rampage, The Meg, The Nun, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Aquaman,” said South Korean cinema technology company CJ 4DPLEX. ScreenX is multi-projection technology with theater screen and project images on the outside wall of the front screen to create a new immersion experience for the audience. The ScreenX team has developed an integrated system, ScreenX Solution, that combines hardware and software, based on CGV’s expertise in theater systems, operation and installation know-how, and user experience analysis capabilities. ScreenX Solution is a technology that synchronizes all the functions from screening DB analysis to image correction, playback and management, and synchronizes them with existing digital cinema system which all come together to give the audience the sense that they are in the movie.

CJ 4DPLEX the company that brings us ScreenX is headquartered in Seoul with international offices in Los Angeles and Beijing and last year screened eight Hollywood blockbusters movies which helped increased the number of auditoriums featuring the technology around the world to 195 in 62 counties. Cineworld Gruop’s have announced that they will go foward with plans to open 100 new location across Europe and the US of ScreenX.
