DC comics have paid tribute to Marvel’s most famous son Stan Lee with a memorial page. The full page which has Stan’s legendary catchphrase “Excelsior!” features in all DC books on offer this week.
It’s a classy and touching gesture from Marvel’s biggest “rival” and comes in the wake of his death last year as well as the anniversary of his birthday which was less than a week ago. Stan would have been 96 on the 28th of December. The Marvel Icon actually helmed a project for DC in 2001 with a mini-series called Just Imagine in which the origin stories of DC’s iconic characters were reimagined.
