2020 Walk of Fame is adding some big names with Spike Lee, Julia Roberts, and Batman

 

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Selection Committee has released the full list of honorees for 2020. The list was announced via an exclusive live-stream by Variety and the inductees are all undeniable talent that ranges from television, live theater, radio, film, and even comics.

The inductees for movies was a clear no-brainer with Two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali, who won at this year’s Oscars for his supporting role in “Green Book,” he will be honored alongside other new and seasoned film stars like Spike Lee, Julia Roberts, Chris Hemsworth, and Octavia Spencer.

The wonderful surprise of the addition of the DC comics superhero BATMAN receiving his own star next year is a great first step to opening the walk of fame to a new audience.

The music inductees came with an unexpected inclusion of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s who is going to be added to the Walk of Fame along with other famous performers such as Alicia Keys, Billy Idol, and Tanya Tucker.

In the television category, talk-show hosts Andy Cohen and Wendy Williams will also be honored with stars on the iconic L.A street. “Married With Children” star Christina Applegate and Terry Crews (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) will also see their names added to the stars.

Singular talent Billy Porter, who now stars in Ryan Murphy’s FX series “Pose,” will also be honored for his work on stage, alongside comedian Dave Chappelle who has made himself a household name with his satirical observational comedy.

Vin Di Bona, selection committee chair and Walk of Famer said, “This year’s choices were particularly unique. We were able to recognize the talents of 35 artists who have already built a legacy here in Hollywood. Also, we were able to celebrate many new talented artists who’ve touched our hearts in film, television, radio and a variety of musical categories.”
