With Star Wars Celebrations behind us, we are still digesting all the news and events from the past weekend. Tucked comfortably behind Respawn Entertainment’s “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order”, and the first teaser trailer of Epidosde IX was Vader Immortal. Occulus’s intergalactic VR series that sees the player become a smuggler stranded on Mustafar, home to Fortress Vader.
“Creating an immersive Star Wars experience in virtual reality comes down to a combination of elements”, said Colum Slevin, head of media, AR/VR experiences at Oculus. Vader Immortal is a three-episode VR game exclusively coming to Oculus Quest and Rift. A trailer shown over the weekend has given us a small glimpse of Episode 1. Not a lot of information has been released regarding the episodes themselves. Only that Episode 1 will focus on lightsabers, while Episode 2 will be about Force Powers. Although no release timeframe information has been given for Episodes 2 and 3, playing Vader Immortal with VR lightsabers has got to better than searching the ice caves of Ilum for Kyber Crystals.
