In season 3 of the DC/HBO Max series Titans, Dick Grayson’s love life gets more interesting with a return to Gotham and the introduction of Barbara Gordon.
According to an exclusive on the entertainment website, Vanity, Savannah Welch, best known for her role as a Marine who suffered an amputation in combat in the History Channel military drama “Six,” has been cast in the role of Barbara Gordon in the upcoming third season of TITANS. Like her comic book counterpart, the TITANS version of Barbara Gordon used to be Batgirl until she was shot and paralyzed by the Joker, leaving her wheelchair-bound, has a combative relationship with Bruce Wayne, but in this universe is now the Gotham City Police Commissioner. If that alone didn’t complicate Barbara’s life, when Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) returns to Gotham, rekindling their old romance and starting a new crime fighting partnership.
Welch, an amputee, after losing one of her legs after an accident in 2016, has since become a spokesperson for the disability community and made other onscreen appearances including critically acclaimed films such as “Boyhood” and “Tree of Life.”
