Wasted Space writer Michael Moreci has signed a multi-year multi-platform deal with Vault Comics. Wasted Space, which is Vault Comics first ongoing series, as of now planned for 25 issues, is a sharp take on the sci-fi genre drawn by Hayden Sherman (Cold War, Mary Shelley Monster Hunter). The series features humor, debauchery, introspection and sometimes Kirbyesque visuals to be one of the most interesting and entertaining series on the shelves.
From this initial press release, it sounds like a movie, an audio version (scripted podcast maybe?) of the first two arcs and maybe a video game (?) will be in Moreci’s court as well as his comic duties.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter Vault EIC Adrian Wassel had this to say:
“Simply put, Michael Moreci is among the most talented, dedicated, and versatile storytellers working today, he’s written nearly every contemporary icon out there, from Luke and Leia to Batman and Wonder Woman. He’s worked in comics, prose, video games and audio, across every imaginable genre, to glowing commercial and critical success. All of those accolades are stunning, truly, but the heart of the matter is this: Despite his rich history of excellent storytelling, Moreci has recently found a new voice — his voice — unlike anything in the market today.”
