While scanning social media we came across something quite interesting on artist Clayton Henry’s Twitter feed. He’s showing off some character design concepts for a project which Marvel has asked him to do some designs for as far back as March. Not just any characters though X-Men Characters. If you follow X-Men or are part of X-Fandom you will know how we jump on anything X related. The X-Men are enjoying a renaissance in popularity thanks to the recently concluded Jonathan Hickman’s House of X and Powers of X which have established the dawn of a new era for Marvel’s merry mutants…
Henry shared his first design with this tweet on Saturday saying he had been given the go ahead to do so…
I finally got the okay to share these. Back in March, @marvel asked me to do a few concept sketches of two of their characters for a special project. Here’s the first character. #wolverine #xmen #conceptart pic.twitter.com/NjMFBYuA0e

He just moments ago tweeted the second design of another famous X-Men and invited people to @Marvel if they like the designs.
@marvel asked me to do a few concept sketches of two of their characters for a special project. You’ve already seen Wolverine. Here is the second character. Jubilee. If you like these designs, let @marvel know! #xmen #marvel pic.twitter.com/3QWA85RwXb

It’s only for two characters according to Henry which doesn’t point to a strictly X related project but rather maybe something more general Marvel orientated. Whatever the case the designs are excellent. I have often heard people say they would love an animated series of the X-Men based on Clayton’s smooth style of drawing and I agree. Hopefully, Marvel will reveal what these are for soon…
