2019 appears to be the year of superhero movies. With half the year already finished, we have seen ups and downs in the box offices.
Glass, Captain Marvel, Shazam!, Hellboy. Avengers: Endgame, X-Men Dark Phoenix and Spider-Man far from home have all be released while we wait for DC’s Joker expected to be released October 10th, 2019.
Glass: Domestically brought in $111 million, worldwide was $246.9 Million, with a budget of $20 million.
Captain Marvel: Domestically brought in $426.8 million, worldwide stood at $1 billion with a budget of $152-175 million.
Shazam!: Domestically brought in $140 million, worldwide was $364 million with a total budget to make the movie at $100 million.
Hellboy: Domestically brought in $21 million, with a worldwide total of $40.78 million. The movie cost $50 million to make.
Avengers: Endgame: Domestically brought in $851 Million, worldwide $2.7 billion and a budget of $365 million.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix: Domestically brought in $65 million, worldwide $249 billion with a budge of $200 million.
Spider-Man Far from Home (released two weeks ago). Domestic numbers at $274 million worldwide stands at $847 million (possibly may creep into the billion mark before it goes to DVD/Blue-ray digital).
Hellboy and X-Men: Dark Phoenix could be considered a box office flop, while Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame appear to dominate at the box office.
