NEWS WATCH: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in talks for Matrix 4!

“This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes”.

I would be remiss to not “geek out” for any news dealing with the Matrix. First released in 1999, the sci-fi blockbuster by the Wachowskis exploded on to the scene and went full force. The next decade would see two more movies released, video games, and a comic series. Not to mention 20 years later, EVERYONE at some point has said “Mr. Anderson” or shared a meme asking you to choose the red or blue pill. Ever find your self just barely missing a low hanging branch and acting like Neo in that famous scene. We’ve all been there, and if the Matrix 4, which is headed by Lana Wachowski has anything to say about it, get ready for more of what made us crazy with Neo fever!

The Hollywood Reporter recently released the news that Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen is set to join the cast as a young Morpheus.

“Wachowski is producing the film with Grant Hill, and co-wrote the screenplay with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell”.

“Reeves and Moss are reprising their respective roles as action heroes Neo and Trinity. Sources speculate that Abdul-Mateen II will pay a young Morpheus, a key leader in humanity’s resistance against the machines, who eventually discovers and trains Neo. Laurence Fishburne portrayed the character in the original franchise”.

Now that the cast is in full swing, it is only a matter of time before we get more information on the fourth installment of the franchise. Make sure to stay tuned to Comic-Watch for all your comic and movie news and reviews.
