Netflix isn’t holding anything back with their Marvel properties! Get ready for Daredevil season 3, confirmed to release later this year.
With the arrival of The Defenders in 2017, Netflix’s Marvel characters teamed up to unite the four separate shows into an Avengers-style crossover. Now, in 2018 those four heroes have all been confirmed to have a new season on Netflix at some point this year.
The second seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage have already been released, and Iron Fist season two is set to begin streaming on September 7th, but Netflix isn’t stopping there. CEO Ted Sarandos clarified rumors surrounding the third season of the fan-favorite show Daredevil, stating towards the end of a Netflix Q2 earnings video that the new season will release sometime in the second half of this year.
“In the short term, we’ve got new seasons coming up, in the second half of this year, of Orange is the New Black, Ozark, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Narcos, the finale of House of Cards, the follow-up series to Making a Murderer…” – Ted Sarandos
With the third season of Daredevil releasing later this year, each member of the Defenders will have received a solo season in 2018. This only leaves out one other show, and it is one that fans will surely be eager to learn more about. The Punisher starring Jon Bernthal, who first appeared in Daredevil season two, is confirmed to get a new season, but no release date has been announced yet.
Though not much is known about the upcoming third season of Daredevil, fans can expect to see the return of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk character along with a new showrunner in Erik Oleson.
