NEWS WATCH: Sony’s ‘Kraven the Hunter’ Solo Film Finds a Writer

Sony is continuing their development of multiple Marvel properties for their own cinematic universe, this time attaching a writer to pen the script for an upcoming Kraven the Hunter standalone film.

Years after allowing Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony continues to capitalize on the rights to the character by developing their own set of films based on the popular comic characters. With Venom releasing this October and a slate upcoming films like Morbius, the Living Vampire, Silver & Black, and Silk announced, Sony is now looking towards a Kraven the Hunter solo film.

Collider recently reported that The Equalizer and The Equalizer 2 writer Richard Wenk has been brought on to pen the script for the film. There isn’t any information on what the solo film will entail, so it is still uncertain if Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will make an appearance.

The report also states that the Kraven the Hunter film is dependent on the success of Tom Hardy’s Venom solo film. If Sony’s new focus on Spidey’s villains proves successful, we could see many more films announced as the studio tries to garner popularity similar to films like Deadpool and Logan. It looks as though fans could be getting many more R rated comic book films in the future is Sony’s plan pays off!

Check back for more information on Sony’s Marvel film’s as it releases. We will be watching!
