In an interview with The Playlist, Kevin Feige confirmed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon see at least two openly LGBTQ characters!

Despite the Marvel Cinematic Universe being over a decade old now, a notable lack of diverse representation remains. There have been huge strides with their most recent releases such as Black Panther, but there is even more on in the near future!

When asked whether or not the MCU would be receiving any characters who are openly LGBTQ by The PlaylistKevin Feige gave an interesting response. Not only did he allude to the fact that we have already seen at least one character who is openly LGBTQ, but he confirmed there are also more on the way!

Regarding the character that we have already seen, he is most likely referring to Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok. The actor recently revealed that Valkyrie was bisexual, but director Taika Waititi stated the scenes were eventually cut from the film.

As far as the new character(s) that could be potentially revealed in the future, there are many different possibilities. Ant-Man and the Wasp have already been rumored to feature one, but Marvel also has Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 coming out soon!
