NEWS WATCH: DC Comics Reveals ‘Three Jokers’ Miniseries from Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok.

During a panel at this year’s SDCC, Geoff Johns provided some insight on ‘Three Jokers’, an upcoming miniseries he is writing with Jason Fabok attached as artist.

SDCC has proven to be a spectacular event for DC Comics and their fans. During one of his panels at the event, Geoff Johns described a new prestige-format miniseries he is working on titled ‘Three Jokers’ with Jason Fabok as the artist.

The narrative thread being explored in this miniseries began in DC Rebirth, which was not coincidentally also written by Geoff Johns.  While it was briefly hinted at in Justice League #50, the DC Universe Rebirth #1 issue provided fans with a thread that established the concept in the new continuity. While the recent revelations from Doomsday Clock have kept fans eager to find out what happens next, it appears DC hasn’t forgotten about the mystery of the three Jokers.

This story is focused on – and I don’t want to spoil it too much – but it’s not focused on other dimensions or alternate earths or whatever. It focuses on the origins of the Joker and Bruce’s realization that there’s more than one operating.

It’s all about scars and healing wrong and healing right and pain. If I could tell one Joker story, this is the one I would tell.

There’s this really fun scene where Joker drives this truck. He goes to the woods and there’s a cabin with a light on, and he knocks on the door and there’s a Joker standing there wearing a Hawaiian shirt, and The Joker says, ‘That’s my shirt.'” – Geoff Johns

Although Geoff Johns briefly mentioned that there are certain distinctions between the three Jokers that help to distinguish them as different characters, he did clarify saying it might just be in his head. The miniseries will feature Batman, Barbara Gordon, and Jason Todd as they attempt to unravel the mystery of the Three Jokers.

There hasn’t been much more information on the story itself, other than a small tease from Geoff Johns at the SDCC panel where he said it will essentially forge a new relationship between Bruce and The Joker.

While there hasn’t been a release date announced yet, Geoff Johns mentioned that he hoped to have the miniseries on shelves sometime this winter. Check back for more information as it releases on the Three Jokers miniseries. As always, we will be watching!
