BREAKING NEWS: Jamie Foxx Has Officially Accepted the Role of SPAWN!

Todd McFarlane has announced via social media that Jamie Foxx has accepted the role of Spawn in the upcoming film produced by Blumhouse.

After some speculation that he was being eyed for the role, it has just been confirmed that Jamie Foxx will officially be Spawn in the new film. Todd McFarlane excitedly announced this via social media, even sharing some pictures of their meeting.

While this may not exactly come as a surprise, the casting is sure to help build anticipation for Spawn’s newest feature film. McFarlane has given a few updates recently regarding the film, discussing the rating and tone in detail.

It will be dark and heavy, serious, R-rated. It won’t be a superhero movie. I don’t think most people would categorize it as that. It will be a supernatural thriller, like a lot of good creep movies. The only thing in the movie that’s fantastic is Spawn, and anything else is otherwise normal.

We don’t want to muddy the waters. It’s R-rated. Not like “Deadpool,” where there were just a couple F-bombs and a naked butt. Not like “Logan” either…We’re talking trauma, true trauma, as serious as possible.” – Todd McFarlane

The new R-rated Spawn film, written and directed by Todd McFarlane and produced by Blumhouse and Todd McFarlane is set to release next year, so expect more updates in the near future!
