Marvel has revealed more information about the upcoming conclusion to the Krakoan Age at New York Comic Con ‘23. During the MARVEL: Next Big Thing Panel, Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, X-Men writer Gerry Duggan, and X-Men Red writer Al Ewing shared details about the climatic two series in one: Fall of the House of X and Rise of the Powers of X. Alongside these two series, more information has also been shared about the tie-in miniseries, The Resurrection of Magneto.

Echoing the beginnings of this era of the mutants, the dual miniseries will feature an interwoven tale of present and future as mutantkind makes its last stand against Orchis, Nimrod, and the cosmic entities behind them. Duggan and artist Lucas Werneck spotlight the final fight of the X-Men in Fall of the House of X. Set in the present day, as Cyclops faces execution, the band of mutants step back into the light for one last battle with Orchis.
Then, set in the not-so-distant future (10 years, to be exact), Kieron Gillen and R.B. Silva reveal what a win looks like for Nimrod and Orchis. The conditions are ready for the sentient machines to summon the binary god seen in Powers of X and most recently in Sins of Sinister, ready to make the final ascension to godhood. The survivors of the mutant population will have to rise up one last time and try to stop the ultimate threat to all of earth.

Joining the two conclusions that are one is Al Ewing and Luciano Vecchio’s Resurrection of Magneto, a tie-in miniseries that brings that X-Men’s greatest foe back into the narrative. After his death during Judgment Day, the question is whether the master of magnetism even wants to return after knowing a taste of peace. The mutants are sure there is no victory with Magneto, and the displacement of the Five makes the process even more difficult.
