IDW Publishing and The Coalition have taken the extremely popular Xbox exclusive third-person shooter and put it on our next favourite media platform, comic books. Both, IDW and The Coalition, are proud to announce that Gears of War: The Rise of RAAM #1, the debut issue of the highly anticipated adaptation,  has sold out at the distributor level just as it’s hitting stores. Gears of War: The Rise of RAAM #1 has already been sent back to print.

Studios is excited to announce Abbott, a new, original comic book series launching in this week from Hugo Award-nominated writer Saladin Ahmed (lack Bolt) and artist Sami Kivelä (Beautiful Canvas) about a female journalist of color in 1970s Detroit named Elena Abbott who investigates a series of grisly crimes the police have ignored, crimes she recognizes to be the work of a dark magical force, the same force that murdered her husband 10 years ago.

With the success of Deadpool (745.7 million worldwide) and Logan (616,795,600 million worldwide), major studios are not afraid to gamble with a big red R on their superhero movie posters anymore. Although it is not always necessary to have mature content to get your point across, especially in the superhero genre – Pretty sure Marvel/Disney is doing just fine – Fans have had their voices echo for over two decades on what they expect to see in the Spawn re-boot, and Todd McFarlane was listening to them the whole time.
