Popeye Drops Anchor in I HATE FAIRYLAND #45 This OCTOBER, Guest Cartoonist JAY FOSGITT Joins Crew

Eisner Award winning Skottie Young will bring Popeye the Sailor Man aboard the upcoming I Hate Fairyland #4. This spinach-fueled issue will feature guest cartoonist Jay Fosgitt (Marvel Fairy Tales, Bodie Troll) and will weigh anchor in October from Image Comics.

“Jay [Fosgitt] is a great cartoonist and we’re lucky to have him on board with us. I know one of Jay’s favorite characters is Popeye and he can draw the heck out of him! And it just so happens that Popeye entered the Public Domain recently so it seemed fitting,” said Young. “I Hate Fairyland it the perfect book to be able to grab onto things like that run with it because anything can happen in my book!”

I Hate Fairyland #45’s inclusion of Popeye is just the latest in a series of cameo appearances made by some of the most beloved, iconic characters of all time. Young has also featured Dorothy and Toto from The Wizard of Oz, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Steamboat Willie’s Mickey Mouse, and more.

Readers interested in catching up or binge-rereading the I Hate Fairyland series so far can find it in print format at local comic book shops, independent bookstores, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Indigo, and Waterstones.
