Return to the ‘90s (and the Savage Land) in Rogue: The Savage Land Miniseries

Marvel revealed that it’s going back in time to an iconic era of mutant history in January’s new limited series, Rogue: The Savage Land. Written by Tim Seeley and drawn by Zulema Lavina, the five issue limited series dives into the time in between the pages of Uncanny X-Men #269 and #274-275. The Chris Claremont/Jim Lee era saw Rogue trapped in the Savage Land with Magneto, where a romance bloomed.

In the article from Polygon, Seeley discussed returning to this specific era, stating:

“In these five issues, I get to utilize my love for 80s X-Men, Jim Lee, Chris Claremont, Zabu, scantily clad heroines (and heroes!) and probably most importantly: DINOSAURS. Alongside my collaborator Zulema Lavina, we’re going to deliver something fresh, while honoring the impossibly sexy and epic classic tale of a young Rogue, and two of the weirdest allies a girl from Mississippi could ask for: Magneto and Ka-Zar.”

In addition to the announcement, Marvel also shared a first look at the main cover by Kaare Andrews and the two variants from Russell Dauterman and Nick Bradshaw.
