ROBERT KIRBY’S Celebration of Queer Marriage Out 2/21!

‘Curbside’ and ‘Boy Trouble’ Cartoonist to Release Beautiful Graphic Memoir Through Penn State University Press Graphic Novel Imprint

Graphic Mundi, the graphic novel imprint of Penn State University Press, proudly announces the publication of cartoonist and collections editor Robert Kirby’s Marry Me a Little: A Graphic Memoir on February 21 with 7 different shareable Valentines using panels directly from the book to promote marriage equality and love in all its forms.

Robert Kirby says “Is it a love story? Sure. But there was a whole lot more going on in and around us regarding the idea of marriage, and that’s what I tried to capture.”

In Marry Me a Little, Rob Kirby recounts his experience of marrying his longtime partner, John, just after same-sex marriage was legalized in Minnesota in 2013, and two years before the Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges made same-sex marriage the law of the land. With humor, candor, and a near-whimsical drawing style, Rob relates how he and John navigated this changing landscape, how they planned and celebrated their wedding, and how the LGBTQ+ community is now facing the very real possibility of setbacks to marriage equality.

Graphic Mundi worked with Robert Kirby and his partner John to select some of the book’s sweetest moments to share with your loved ones today or any day to continue to raise awareness for the Right to Marry and the upcoming publication of a true American love story.

Marry Me a Little released in comics shops on February 8 and will be available in bookstores on February 21. Penn State University Press launched Graphic Mundi in early 2021. Books in the imprint are distributed in North America exclusively by Diamond Comic Distributors/Diamond Book Distributors.
