Image Comics unveiled a first look at the upcoming Ice Cream Man #43, which expands its anthology concept to a series of one-page stories from a variety of creators. Series creators W. Maxwell Prince, Martín Morazzo, and Chris O’Halloran will be joined by a roster of creators to chill its audience’s spines. The anthology series follows a set of tales lingering on the more somber flavors of life, connected through the titular and mysterious figure, Ice Cream Man.
Some of the creators included are Grant Morrison, Patton Oswalt, Matt Fraction, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Jeff Lemire, Geoff Johns, Deniz Camp, and Frank Barbiere. Among the short stories is Zoe Thorogood’s “For James,” a tribute to her late brother. A partial amount of the proceeds for the issue sales will be donated to a charity on his behalf.
Alongside the announcement, Image shared a look at the issue’s table of contents and a first look at three stories inside, all with art by Morazzo and O’Halloran. Those previews can be seen below.
