SDCC 2026: All That Happened During The Marvel Studios Panel

One of the most awaited panels at San Diego Comic Con was Marvel Studios at Hall H, which happened this Saturday (25). With the confirmation of new productions, cast announcements and special appearances, the panel was surely an out of this world experience for those who were there.

It started off with H.E.R.B.I.E taking the stage, followed by Marvel CEO Kevin Feige. Before heading to new announcements, Feige discussed the rerelease of Avengers: Endgame in movie theatres this September and revealed that it has nearly 10 minutes of added screentime and a scene that ties directly into Avengers: Doomsday.

Then, the first new announcement came early: Feige invited Ryan Gosling on stage to announce him as Ghost Rider in the upcoming film, with Shawn Levy (who previously worked on Deadpool & Wolverine) as a director to be released in 2028.

Visionquest

The Visionquest television series officially has a release date: October 14th. Feige mentioned that it should work as the end of the “Scarlet Witch trilogy”, which points to the unfortunate possibility that Wanda Maximoff would be out of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Avengers: Doomsday

Robert Downey Junior, along with most of the confirmed cast for Avengers: Doomsday (yes, including the X-Men), came on stage to talk about the film’s plotline. A new poster was also released, and it centers the Doctor Doom costume that was previously displayed on Marvel’s SDCC stand. RDJ also confirmed that, to the happiness of comic book fans, Reed and Doom will have a past history together in Avengers: Doomsday, as previous “besties”. Hayley Atwell (who plays Peggy Carter) was also officially announced as part of the cast.

A new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday was disclosed, and one of the most relevant aspects of it was the establishment of a relationship between Victor Von Doom and the Fantastic Four. According to two Brazilian journalists, Giovanna Padano and João Cunha, in one of the scenes, Sue Storm praised the kind of man Victor used to be. They also mentioned that Reed Richards directly and personally confronts Von Doom and that the villain uses sorcery to revitalize sentries.

Black Panther 3

Black Panther 3 was also announced, and said to be released on December 15th 2028. The film will be protagonized by David Jonsson as T’Challa’s son (that we have previously seen on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever post credit scene) and directed by Ryan Coogler.

Ryan Reynolds also made a special appearance in a grey Deadpool costume.

It was a satisfying panel in general, although I do wish they had either kept the trailer a secret until then or released new scenes to the general audience, so it could have an impact on fans following it from the outside.
