Set to debut this December, Batman and the Outsiders are put on hold.

As it was originally set for release December 12th according to Solicits, then sources mention in February, now an unknown date. The idea of the book was Batman and his assembled group of outsiders is put together for a secret mission that appears to pit the outsiders and Justice league at odds.

Writer Bryan Hill told the Washington Post “ Hopefully it will be surprising and thrilling in ways that I don’t think people will quite expect. I’m becoming known a bit for a certain kind of intensity in my work, and I think this Outsiders project will also continue on in that pathway.”

No reasons for the delays have been mentioned, however, Bryan Hill does tweet “Everything is fine. We can only launch OUTSIDERS in this iteration once, so it has to accomplish as much as possible in our book, and beyond it. I don’t know how many superhero comics runs I have in me, so I really want this to be special.”

News of the delays does seem odd at this time since there has been a large amount of advertising put into the up and coming book. It should also be mentioned that DC Comics official website still has the book listed for release on 12/12. Stay tuned for this developing story.
