NEWS WATCH: Welcome Back to Etheria With the New She-Ra and the Princess of Power Show.

She-Ra and her friends of the Great Rebellion have returned to save us from the evil forces of Hordak

Adora and her friends are back and here the pictures from the DreamWorks Animation’s She-Ra and the Princess of Power reboot that’s scheduled to debut November 16, 2018 on Netflix. Originally announced back in December of 2017, the showrunner Noelle Stevenson of the new series release some exciting images via tweeter this Monday.

Judging from the images not only can we see She-Ra with her new younger more playful animation style reminiscent of “Steven Universe,” we also see castle bright moon, Adora with historically known villain Catra, and her with some of the classic members of the great rebellion Glimmer and Bow watching Glimmer use her light-based powers.

Newly titled She-Ra and the Princesses of Power follows an orphan by the name of Adora. When she discovers a magic sword, it transforms her into the mythical warrior princess known as She-Ra, which comes in handy given evil Horde in control. During her journey, she finds a new family for herself in the rebellion, uniting a group of magical princesses. Together, they’ll participate in the ultimate fight against evil.

Unfortunately, some longtime fans of the show are none too happy with the direction the new art style has gone and as always are very vocal about it. Many fans expressed their dismay with worded reactions like “ it’s hideous” and “ she looks like Thor in drag” but some fans are a little more open-minded and said “If I was 8 years old again I would be so excited about this like I was for the original.” So it’s not all bad responses from the audience.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly showrunner Noelle Stevenson talks about her love for the show when she said “When you’re working on a pitch, you have no idea if it’ll go or not, or really what will happen. At that stage, anything can happen, so it’s best not to get too attached to what you’re working on. But I realized at one point, ‘Oh my God, I love this, I really, really want this.’ Two and a half years later, I’ve only gotten more entrenched in it. It is very, very dear to me.” and went on to relieve some fan fear with “We’ve really started from the same starting point where the original show started from because Adora has such a great backstory.”

As a long time fan of the franchise and 80’s aficionado, I’m very eager to see if DreamWorks will breathe new life into the property the way they did with Voltron now on season 6 streaming on Netflix where new the She-Ra series will premiere November 16.

As always we will be watching…
