Created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, the Korean-American superhero Cindy Moon aka Silk currently has a film in early development stages!
Sony and producer Amy Pascal are reportedly developing a film adaption of Marvel’s Korean-American superhero Silk. Although this will be her first stand-alone feature, Cindy Moon made a brief appearance in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War.
In the comics, Cindy Moon was bitten by a radioactive spider just as Peter Parker was. The spider that had been irradiated by a particle accelerator first bit Peter Parker on the hand, but as it fell towards the ground, it was able to also bite Cindy on the ankle before dying. This afforded her superhuman abilities, a Silk-sense (much like Peter Parker’s Spidey-sense), and even organic webbing that releases through her fingertips.
Although Sony has not commented on the film yet, Pascal is currently working with the production company on other Marvel films including Spider-Man spinoffs Venom and Silver & Black. Stay tuned for more information regarding the Silk solo film and other Spider-Man spinoffs as more information releases!
