Marvel announces the return of the Giant Sized label for the line’s 50th anniversary. The new one-shots will deliver team-ups, throw downs, and paths forward for pivotal characters of the Marvel Universe. Miles Morales is the first hero to get the Giant Sized treatment from current Miles Morales: Spider-Man writer Cody Ziglar and artist Iban Coello. The issue will see the wall crawler battling Dylan Brock’s Venom this January.
Writer Cody Ziglar discussed the approach to the one-shot, stating:
“In a series where I’ve had the luck to do a lot of firsts, I’m so stoked that I’m able to add Miles and Dylan’s first true battle with each other to that list. I look forward to readers seeing Iban’s incredible work in another action-packed book featuring everyone’s favorite Brooklyn-based Spider-Man.”
Giant Sized Spider-Man #1 will feature a main cover from Bryan Hitch, and a variant cover by Jeehyung Lee. The issue also includes a reprinted copy of Ultimate Spider-Man #22, written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Sara Pichelli, which tells the first encounter of Miles and Ultimate Venom.
