This August, Marvel’s Stormbreakers take the heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe out of their element and into fantastical new worlds in ISEKAI VARIANT COVERS!
“Isekai,” Japanese for “a different world,” is a subgenre popular in manga, anime, and video game storytelling in which a protagonist is transported to another realm. The Stormbreakers’ imagination runs wild with the concept across these new covers, pulling Marvel characters into strange settings and depicting them with striking new designs and powers.
The new collection arrives just ahead of the Marvel Mangaverse 25th anniversary one-shots, five special one-shots revisiting the world of Marvel Mangaverse and introducing new manga-inspired versions of iconic Marvel heroes.
First launched in 2020, Marvel’s Stormbreakers evolved from Marvel’s Young Guns program. Over the past 15 years, Marvel selected and recognized 36 up-and-coming artists who went on to draw some of Marvel’s greatest events, iconic series, and beyond, solidifying their place as luminaries in the industry including Steve McNiven, Jim Cheung, Sara Pichelli, Ryan Stegman, and more.

Chosen for their remarkable art, notable achievements, and boundless imagination when bringing the Marvel mythos to the page, these creators represent the future of comic book artistry and embody the raw talent to shatter the limits of visual storytelling!
