This past Saturday, Mutant Watch‘s own Duna and Gabriel were joined by special guest Conor A.K.A. @ConorReadsXMen to take a look at the Inferno (1989) crossover, with a main mutant storyline written by Louise Simonson and Chris Claremont and with art by Bret Blevins, Marc Silvestri, Walter Simonson, Jon Bogdavone, between others. Tackling trauma as the main lens through which we discussed the event, and examining the parallel stories of Illyana Rasputin and Madelyne Pryor, we discuss how this event shows and shifts views about agency, survivorhood, mental illness and the effects of trauma, childhood sexual abuse, and how it develops its conversations around these topics and the social ramifications of them.
