Last Saturday, Mutant Watch was joined by Syl a.k.a. @lesbianjubilee for a conversation around the themes that Exiles (2001-2004) showcased, as well as the relationships and defining moments of its almost-all-mutant team of multiverse jumpers. From the historical first gay kiss between two superheroes (Mariko Yashida A.K.A. Sunfire and Mary Jane Watson A.K.A. Spider-Woman) to some of the more problematic themes brought by the creatives, or how the continuity of a 100 issues series divided in small, compartmentalized arcs shaped the strengths and weaknesses of this run.
