Quentin Tarantino and JJ Abrams Might Be Boldly Going Together

Tarantino and Abrams in talks with Paramount to make Star Trek film.

In an exclusive article by Deadline, it has just been announced that Tarantino has shared an idea for a Star Trek movie with Abrams and Paramount is interested. The plan is to gather a team of writers to hear Tarantino’s idea and nut out a screenplay, if it is a go, Tarantino will direct and Abrams will produce the film. Tarantino is known for working on original movies and has never ventured into a franchise feature film for fear of creative restrictions. He has directed two episodes of CSI, one for ER and shown interest in a James Bond movie, but this will be his first go at using established characters and lore on the big screen if it goes ahead. He is also known for his film’s being quite violent and adult-themed, so it will be interesting to see if he brings some of that in, or tones it down to suit the status quo.
