Dark Horse announces that it will partner with Dogu Publishing to release a new Usagi Yojimbo miniseries from creator Stan Sakai. Usagi Yojimbo: Ice and Snow spins out of the “The Green Dragon” storyline from the main title, and teams up Usagi and his cousin Yukichi as they battle against long established villain Jei. Sakai writes, illustrates, and letters the series, while HiFi Colour Designs provides the coloring.
Issue #1 launches September 27 and features a main cover by Sakai, with variants from Skottie Young and Paolo Rivera. All three covers can be see below, along with a detailed synopsis from the press release:
Usagi and Yukichi are still in the snowy mountaintops of Northern Japan, following Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo story arc, “The Green Dragon.” They are led to the hut of a strange hermit who allows them to spend the night at her home to shelter from the snow storm. Meanwhile, the maniacal Jei and his familiar, Keiko, are on Usagi’s trail when they stumble upon a bandit lair and subdue a band of cutthroats and thieves.
