Skybound and Image Comics announced that the Energon Universe continues to grow with the new series, Destro. The miniseries will see ??Dan Watters writing with art by Andrei Bressan, coloring by Adriano Lucas, and letters from Rus Wooton when it releases starting in June. Following up on the ongoing plot in Cobra Commander, the book tracks the titular Destro as hebattles attempts by various villains to take over his weapons company, M.A.R.S. Industries.
Writer Dan Watters discussed joining the share universe in the press release, stating:
“I’m incredibly excited to bring Destro to life with Andrei. This is going to be a visceral, explosive thriller in which he [Destro] isn’t very nice to anyone at all — everything you’d want from your favorite amoral arms trafficker.”
In addition to the interior pages, Andrei Bressan is set to illustrate the book’s main cover. They will be joined by artists like Jorge Fornes, David Mack, and Nikola ?ižmešija, all of whom will provide variant covers for the book.
In the press release, Artist Andrei Bressan spoke about the excitement of working Destro, stating:
“I just can’t wait to see what Dan has planned for Destro! I’m pretty excited because everything going on with the Energon Universe so far has been bonkers and Destro…he is just an absolute bad***, ready to kill and destroy.”
