The High Republic Comic Series Enters Its Endgame with Phase III

Marvel and Lucasfilm have announced the official start of Phase III for The High Republic, the galaxy spanning publishing initiative. Set during the Golden Age of the Jedi (roughly 200 years before The Phantom Menace), the storytelling initiative follows a group of Jedi across the galaxy as they chart the course towards the prequel trilogy.

It’s been a year since Starlight Beacon was destroyed by Marchion Ro and the Nihil, crippling the Jedi’s various missions and the might of the Republic. In the new The High Republic comic series, writer Cavan Scott and artist Ario Anindito continue the story of now Jedi Master Keeve Trennis and the fight to restore peace and unity to both the Jedi Order and larger galaxy.

In an interview with StarWars.com, Scott stated about the book:

“I’m over the moon to be returning to our original High Republic characters as we reach the climatic final phase of the publishing initiative. I’m particularly excited to be working with Ario Anindito again as well as to welcome Jim Towe to the art team. Their work is truly stunning! I can’t wait for readers to see it for themselves!”

Alongside the announcement of the series, Marvel has shared a first look at Phil Noto’s main cover for issue one and Mico Suayan’s connecting variant covers for issues one through four (not showing four to avoid spoilers). Those covers can be seen below:
