As the Fall of X continues, Marvel has revealed an upcoming variant cover for the limited series, Resurrection of Magneto. Written by Al Ewing with art by Luciano Vecchio, the series will see the mutants’ resurrecting the master of magnetism after his death during A.X.E.: Judgment Day. It remains to be seen how it will tie into the ongoing stories of Fall of the House of X and Rise of the Powers of X, beyond mutantkind needing all the hope it can get.
In the press release, writer Al Ewing discussed the hardships of the resurrections, stating:
“When we killed Magneto, there was a plan. This isn’t going to be a golden egg, easy path to resurrection. This is the hard road.”
The first variant for the series is illustrated by John Tyler Christopher, utilizing his negative space style to highlight Magneto’s classic costume. The variant cover can be seen below:
